Just embiggen and keep on keepin on!

I really miss Oppo meets and...getting out and doing stuff. This summer felt so.....lonely. I’ve hardly felt like driving, often not taking out the ST and I have barely driven the truck at all. Personal stuff makes up part of the reason and Covid the rest.

We’ll all pull through on here and out there.

Have you considered booking a cabin in the woods to be one with nature and also your dog? The bonus is that many roads to national parks are also good driving roads!

I’ve been driving the fintail as much as the modern car the past few weeks, but not anywhere in particular. Nowhere to go. Was thinking of a little road trip next month, but accommodations and dining will be awkward, so who knows.

Come camping with us! The spot we're going to is huge, distancing can be easily maintained, and it isn't an official campsite, so we won't be sharing with anyone we don't know. Downside for you, it's west of Portland.

Depending on where you stay, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is. Proprietors are flexible with your needs and lots of creative dining options are available. Don’t be put off by that if you want to go.

It’s in decent nick approaching 19k mi.

Just did the coolant and oil changes today and I have a rear tire ordered. I bought front pads but the factory ones are maybe 40% worn at most because I rear brake more than front. Just the tire and BMC air filter to clean.

Next year? If I still have it. ;)

Actually, I could probably just fold the seats down in the wagon, voila. Tempting offer, I suspect I’ll end up in eastern WA though, hit the empty back roads.

I’ll probably need to go somewhere sooner or later - cabin fever is setting in. Originally I hoped to be out of the country for the election, but now that I am persona non grata in most of the world, nope. I’m also hesitant to spend much money lately, but you can’t take it with you.

Isn't that a bad thing that it's business as usual? That has frightened me the most about going places. Some places nobody wears masks anywhere and others you'd be hard pressed to find someone without one. And it's not just that but groups of 20+ people mingling about just freak me out now. The beaches this weekend looked insane here, like there was no pandemic going on. Sure outside is less risky and easier to keep distance but I'm going to keep going to places with as few people as possible. Thankfully there's plenty of open land to explore around these parts!

Being relatively new here, I’ve not met an Oppo IRL but it turns out I was at a local park at roughly the same time as Slant6. That was kind of funny. One day we need to have a Southeast meet.

I know what you mean man. I love to drive, but I haven’t had anywhere to go. Sure, you don’t need a place to go, but it helps when you’re already out and about. I’ve never been to an Oppo meet, but it’s on the bucket list now (next year?). If you need a pal though, I speak for everyone in this community when I say we’re here for ya.

I’m certainly concerned about both things! I agree though, burning down forests is a “closer alligator to the canoe” in the sense that more people will die if not resolved. But really the only resolution is to fix global warming which is a bit tricky and perhaps impossible.
